Troubleshooting your DilNet Connection

For Wired Connections

  1. Make sure that the UTP cable you are using is securely plugged in the correct port.
    • One end should be connected to your laptop or desktop, and the other end should be connected to your Internet source (a port in the wall, a port at the back of a router, etc.). If the cable is securely connected to your laptop or desktop, the port should be lighted up.
    • If the port is lighted up, but the cable is loose and can get easily unplugged: This may cause problems with your Internet connection. Have the cable re-crimped by a technician.
    • If both ends of the cable are securely plugged, but the port at your computer is not lighted up, and your computer is not able to detect a UTP cable plugged in: There may be a hardware problem with your LAN card. Have your unit checked by a technician.
    • Otherwise, proceed to Step 2
  2. Ensure that you have the correct IP settings for your computer. For offices with Static IP, you may contact your building/unit IT administrator before contacting the DilNet Helpdesk.
    • For Static IP addresses, ensure that your DNS is configured correctly to 10.32.1.7 and 10.16.3.143.

For DILNET-WIFI connections

  1. Check first if your wireless Internet adapter is turned on and is able to detect DILNET-WIFI. This will depend on your device but they usually have a WiFi icon at the status bar of your device.
  2. Check if you are able to establish a connection with the Dilnet WiFi. For Windows and Mac devices, this may show the WiFi signal icon as full/filled up. For Android devices it will show an error if the WiFi access point does not have Internet connectivity.
  3. Kindly make sure that your WiFi adapter has the correct IP settings – they should be set to DHCP/Automatic. Same with DNS (it should not contain any IP addresses, like Google’s 8.8.8.8).
  4. If the DILNET-WIFI portal did not pop-up, you may also force connecting here by going to your browser and typing “https://portal.upd.edu.ph”
  5. Try to turn off or disable your wireless Internet adapter and then turn it on or enable it again. Then try to connect once more.
  6. Try restarting your computer
  7. If all else fails, contact our heldpesk and provide as much information as possible (screenshots would be very much welcome).
